The DOD SkillBridge program is an opportunity for service members to gain valuable civilian work experience through specific industry training, apprenticeships, or internships during the last 180 days of service. SkillBridge connects service members with industry partners in real-world job experiences.The progam allows pilots an opportunity to interview for Wheels Up’s Core Fleet as a Captain, or  Second in Command (SIC) for the chance to receive a Contingent Offer of Employment (COE)

Role Overview

 

Wheels Up services include Private Membership, Maintenance, FBO services, Charter Operations, and Aircraft sales. We offer a challenging and rewarding career in an exciting and dynamic industry. This is a chance to join a team which has an incredible depth of knowledge as well as the drive to deliver service excellence to our clients across a wide variety of sectors from the military to ultra -high-net-worth individuals.

 

We are hiring SkillBridge Captains and First Officers for our KA350i, CJ3 and BE400 aircraft in various locations throughout the United States. Most major airports and many regional airports with regular airline service are available as primary and secondary pilot domiciles.

 

 

Compensation:  Payscale

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • FAA First Class Medical Certificate
  • Valid Passport
  • Commercial MEL Certificate
  • Eligible for CANPASS
  • Customer Service Focused
  • Must be able to lift and move 30 lbs and occasionally up to 60 plus lbs
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time (varies per a/c range and flight)
  • Must be able to work rotating shifts, and travel on a consistent basis

 

Captain Qualifications

 

Flight Time

 

  • 2500 Total Time
  • 2000 Pilot-in-Command
  • 2000 Multi-Engine
  • 1500 Multi-Engine PIC
  • 2000 Turbine
  • 250 Instrument
  • BE400 Type Rating (preferred)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3500 Total Time
  • 2000 Pilot-in-Command
  • 2500 Multi-Engine PIC
  • 2000 Turbine
  • BE400 Type Rating with 250 time in type

 

 

First Officer Qualification

 

Flight Time:

  • 1200 hours TT
  • 250 PIC
  • 25 ME
  • 75 Instrument

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2500 hours TT
  • 1000 PIC
  • 500 ME Turbine
  • ATP

Responsibilities

This position requires successful candidates to work as team members in a crew environment. Successful candidates will be safety oriented, possess strong leadership skills, and embody superior customer service.

Salary Range

The wage range for this position once a candidate has successfully completed the Skillbridge program is  $70,000 - $150,000 is determined on a variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, such as differences in skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. This wage range has not been adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with where the position may be filled. At Wheels Up, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role. Your placement within the wage range is primarily based on your qualifications and experience.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
